Meghan Boyer is a Chicago-based writer and editor who developed a lifelong appreciation of books at an early age. As an elementary school student, more than one classmate wrote in her yearbook, “Don’t read too much this summer.” Meghan’s goal in working with Rock For Reading is to inspire a similar love of books and reading in others. Ellen Wing-May Chan is an artist, writer, and singer.  Ellen has also done time in windowless, gray cubicles across Chicago, for which she had committed no crime.  Ellen is committed to promoting literacy, especially to those who, for example, might otherwise grow up saying: “like”, “you know”, and “like, you know” for lack of vocabulary skills.  Rock on!

Kelly Christopher is thrilled to join Rock For Reading’s Junior Board since books and music are two of her favorite things, mostly the books though. She leaves the guitar playing to her husband. Kelly likes literature so much, she went to school for it. Twice. After graduating with her MA, she decided to start a book club, just so she could keep talking about books. She’s really not sure what she would do if she couldn’t read all the time, so she’s excited to help Chicago kids get books of their very own!

Barbara Liss will never forget winning her 5th grade Battle of the Books competition. It may have been downhill since then as far as winning things goes, but her love of reading has never waned.  A marketer by day and traveler, movie goer and football fan (especially the University of Michigan) most other times, Barbara hopes to share her passion for reading and love of good stories with others.

Rachael A Minucciani is originally from Libertyville, IL and moved back to Chicago after graduation. She has been involved with running since she was a junior in college and just last year joined the Rock For Reading Marathon group. She just recently began working on the events committee which lead her to discover that running is more than just a training program and schedule, and since incorporating Rock For Reading into her life she has found exactly what she is passionate about; running and giving back to the community. She currently lives in the West Loop and works for CBS Radio/The Score.
